Bellocq is chic.

Alvin Ailey

American choreographer, created the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre in New York in 1958

"Ailey was proud that his company was multi-racial. While he wanted to give opportunities to black dancers, who were frequently excluded from performances by racist attitudes at the time, he also wanted to rise above issues of negritude. His company always employed artists based solely on artistic talent and integrity regardless of their race."

dreads ... chic?

debatable.

Richard Avedon is chic.

I eat my words.

reunion

all of us (at one point or another) worked at the same boutique
this was a night of reuniting
feeling 16 again, we indulged in vodka and cranberry juice
collectively, we made friday one of the greatest we could have possibly imagined.

everyone listens to trash

top 40, even those oldies that we all know
we walk around each day faced with the plain, the fast-food music for our fast-food lives

but every once in a while, some new event bursts the bubble and there are lyrics to those songs that we come across that perfectly resound with us (pun intended)

these musics, these lyrics are quite plainly chic.

I first heard Zero7 on an MTV commercial when I was in high-school
and to this day, it's relevance in my life, in my heart, is astounding.

(I miss..you.)
